In the middle of life’s journey, I found myself in a dark forest, where the straight road was lost.

That’s my translation, anyway.

Dante had Virgil to guide him through the dark wood, and I’ve got this website. Welcome! Join me as I draw myself a map out of the tangle of trees.

Before now, I’ve been a writer, a scholar, a teacher, an editor, an organizer/activist, an occasional artist, and a mother. I’m the Executive Director and Lead Organizer over at the Material Collective, and I’ll be blogging here about my work as an activist-academic.
